What is POINTREK ? POINTREK is a VTS application which is developed by PT. SISFO INDONESIA. POINTREK is specially design for a tracking needs with a wide coverage area. How it works ? POINTREK uses a backbone technology of GPS. With the use of a satelite, the vessel location and direction can be tracked (?). Normally, the location of the vessel is usually received in the form of raw data, but POINTREK furtherly processes the datas with the use of a vector map, therefore it can be seen visually. With this technology, users are able to see the location of their ship. What tools/equipments are needed to install POINTREK ? The tools/equipment that are needed to install Pointrek are a GPS antenna and a transmitter. At POINTREK, two of the device has been packed into one, hence is easier to install. User/shipowner, monitors the ship just through a web browser, hence its more convenient for mobile users. Ho wide is the coverage of POINTREK ? POINTREK has a very wide coverage area.
